A delegation from Russia’s Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) and SIBUR visits our university and renews the 2+2 dual-degree program cooperation agreement

 On the morning of November 22, a seven-member delegation from Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU), including President Yury Kazakov, Vice President Dilbar Sultanova, Director of the International Office Anna Sukhristina, Director of SIBUR's Board ZENG Fanli, and Director of University Cooperation Department Rustam Galiakhmetov, visited our university for discussions and talks. Vice President WANG Feng attended the meeting and delivered a speech. ZHANG Bing, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, chaired the meeting.

WANG Feng stated that since 2022, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) have been expanding high-quality international talent cooperation models in materials science and engineering, process equipment and automation, leveraging their advantages in these disciplines to meet the industry's talent needs in the context of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. The successful implementation of the project has given us confidence in further expanding educational cooperation. In the future, the two universities can strengthen the communication and cooperation in scientific research. He highly praised SIBUR’s emphasis on talent development and expressed hope to work with KNRTU and SIBUR to innovate cooperation models, promote the open exchange of high-quality educational resources between China and Russia, and achieve sustainable development.

Yury Kazakov expressed sincere thanks for the warm reception and the academic and living environment provided by BUCT for students from KNRTU. He hoped to expand further cooperation in talent training, develop more cooperative training programs in related fields, and deepen research collaboration in areas with similar disciplines. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing faculty and staff exchanges to comprehensively promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities.

ZENG Fanli stated that SIBUR attaches great importance to talent cultivation and will continue to fund the 2+2 program between KNRTU and BUCT, providing solid talent support and a communication bridge for cooperation and development between Russia and China in the petrochemical industry.

Vice Dean of the International Education College, YAN Hong, introduced the progress of the KNRTU 2+2 dual-degree program and reported on the current 33 international students enrolled in Polymer Materials and Engineering, and Process Equipment and Control Engineering, noting their hard work and excellent performance in academics, life, and extracurricular activities. The Russian representatives expressed high recognition of the talent cultivation quality at BUCT.

The three parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the specific implementation of the undergraduate program and future cooperation, reaching a high level of consensus on how to improve the quality of talent training further and innovate future cooperation models.

In the presence of the attendees, WANG Feng and Yury Kazakov renewed the 2+2 dual-degree program cooperation agreement.

This meeting and signing ceremony marks another important milestone in tripartite cooperation among BUCT, KNRTU, and SIBUR, establishing a solid platform for the 2+2 dual-degree program and industry-university-research cooperation. It lays a strong foundation for future collaboration in talent development, academic exchanges, and scientific research among BUCT, KNRTU, and SIBUR. It will also contribute significantly to China-Russia educational exchanges and the internationalization of high-level talent cultivation.
