1.Programme description
This Program is built upon the discipline of Materials Science and Engineering, a national key discipline that focuses on the fundamental research in material science and the development of material engineering technologies. It covers diverse fields including synthesis and preparation of polymer materials, structure and properties of polymer materials, special and functional elastomers, high-performance carbon fibers and composites, nanocomposites, metal corrosion and protection, polymer coatings and binders, biomedical materials, functional carbon materials, and advanced energy materials. The research conducted not only holds significant international academic influence but also enjoys a high reputation within the industrial sector. The faculty team comprises over 230 professional teachers, including 200 holding senior titles. The faculty includes one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and two "dual-employed" academicians. The Materials Science ranks among the Top 1‰ worldwide in ESI subject rankings.

This Program aims to cultivate high-level talents with good professional ethics who have a solid theoretical foundation and broad expertise in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, possess strong capabilities of solving practical problems and computer application, demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language, and can undertake professional technology or management work. Graduates will be able to carry out scientific research, technology development, process design and economic management in the fields of material design, synthesis, structure and properties, processing and forming, and practical applications.
