1.Programme description
This Program is developed with the support of the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering, the Institute of Applied Chemistry, and the Departments of Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Biology. While paying attention to basic and theoretical researches, the School extends its research work downstream and forms a featured development mode which combines theory and practice in respect of "condensing scientific problems-basic and applied basic researches-engineering and industrialization researches, on basis of international academic frontier and the actual demands of the country". After many years of development, it has gradually formed distinctive research directions, such as assembly chemistry and efficient utilization of resources, catalytic chemistry and utilization of rare metal resources, photoelectrochemical and efficient utilization of energy and metal resources, nano-biochemical analysis and efficient utilization of resources, green synthetic chemistry, etc. At present, the School has 62 teachers with senior titles and 59 with vice senior titles; and 65 supervisors for doctor's degree candidates and 148 supervisors for master's degree candidates. It includes one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

This Program cultivates well-rounded professional technicians. A master's degree holder should master a wide range of basic theory and skills of chemistry, systematically master the specialized knowledge, theory and research methods of chemistry; be familiar with the current research status and development trend of the research direction; strengthen and permeate with materials, environment, light industry, petrochemical, life science, chemical engineering and other disciplines and have the basic theory and a wide range of knowledge of multi-disciplines. Meanwhile, he/she should have the preliminary computer ability and be able to use the computer and the network technology skillfully to carry on literature collection and exchange; have rigorous and pragmatic scientific attitude, good experimental skills and the ability to summarize and analyze scientific problems, be competent for teaching, scientific research and technical management in colleges and universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and other units.
