1.Programme description

Building upon the Biochemical Engineering discipline, this Program plays a vital role in deep and precision processing of resources, clean and optimized utilization of resources and energy, and environmental pollution control, while providing critical support for emerging technologies such as bioengineering and new materials, and their industrialization. With regard to this discipline, the School has a high level in biocatalytic technology, biomaterial, biochemical separation technology, etc.. In recent years, it has made great breakthroughs in environmental biotechnology and new bioenergy, and has crossed this discipline with many other disciplines such as food, medicine, material, environment, energy, etc..

This Program cultivates talents with solid theoretical foundation and systematic expertise, who are familiar with the current S&T research status and development trend of the research direction, capable of conducting scientific research, teaching, or undertaking specialized technical work independently, and demonstrate self-directed learning capabilities and innovative scientific spirit. Understand the status quo and development trends of this Program and related fields such as chemistry, biology, and chemical engineering; understand the research and development trends of emerging technologies such as energy biotechnology, new material biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, and pharmaceutical biotechnology. Students should be familiar with the national policies and regulations on drug production, design, R&D, environmental protection, etc.; and have strong scientific research and working ability in the field of pharmaceutical engineering, be competent for teaching, scientific research and technical management in colleges and universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and other units.
