Empowering Global Talent, Facilitating Chinese Enterprises' Overseas Development--2025 Beijing International Students’ Job Fair & International Talent Academic, Career and Innovation Camp Successfully Held

On April 19, 2025, the 2025 Beijing International Students’ Job Fair + International Talent Academic-Career Innovation Camp & the 3rd Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) Academic-Career Development Festival took place at the High-Tech Innovation Building on BUCT’s East Campus. Under the theme "Bridging Futures: Networking and Career Pathway" the event was hosted by BUCT and attracted representatives from over 30 renowned enterprises and nearly 1,000 international students from more than 10 universities in Beijing. Distinguished guests included leaders and experts from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in China, Exit and Entry Administration of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Beijing Overseas Talents Center, International Student Work Research Association of Beijing Higher Education Association, Beijing Education Technology Promotion Association, and Beijing Chaoyang Talent Consulting Service Association. Leaders and faculty representatives from BUCT’s International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Graduate Student Affairs Office, and School of International Education also attended. Participants launched the "International Talent, Academic & Career Innovation Alliance (ITACIA)" The event also received attention and endorsement from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission’s International Exchange Department.

BUCT’s Vice President Wang Feng delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He emphasized that the event aimed to build bridges between universities, enterprises, and international students, promote the deep integration of international talent cultivation and employment, serve China’s opening-up strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, and support Chinese enterprises in "going global." He called on more enterprises and institutions to collaborate in nurturing outstanding international talents, advancing the high-quality sustainable development of international education in China, and contributing to global people-to-people connectivity and the shared future of humanity.

Ibu Elizani T. X. Nadia Sumampouw, Economic Minister Counsellor of Indonesia Embassy, praised the significance of the event. She highlighted the vast potential for cooperation between China and Indonesia in economic, cultural, and educational fields. Moving forward, the Indonesian Embassy will actively promote opportunities for Indonesian students to study at BUCT and strengthen academic exchanges and collaboration.

Guo Qingqiu, Partner and Overseas Project Director of SGET, and Marvell Millensza, Student Chairman of PERMIT Beijing, delivered speeches as representatives of enterprises and students, respectively.

The job fair was bustling with activity, featuring enterprises from sectors such as chemical engineering, finance, technology, biomedicine, and new energy, including Xiaomi Corporation, JD.com, Huawei, Bank of China, CNCEC, Shandong Linglong Tire Co., Ltd, Meihua Group, and CSPC Pharmaceutical Holdings Group Co., Ltd. Long queues formed at many corporate booths. Enterprise representatives noted that recruiting internationally educated students helps companies expand overseas markets. The event provided a one-stop recruitment platform for Beijing-based international students. A representative from CNCEC highlighted that international students’ strong Chinese proficiency and cross-cultural competencies make them ideal candidates for overseas market development roles.

International students actively engaged with recruiters to explore job opportunities and career paths. A student from Morocco shared, "This event showed me that studying in China can lead to employment opportunities back in my home country. It’s a great option for me, and I’m fully prepared."

A key highlight was the corporate presentation zone and the International Talent Academic, Career and Innovation Development Training Camp, which drew large crowds. The training camp offered five themed lectures tailored to students’ needs: "Career Development Planning for International Students," "Global Career Guide for International Students," "From Cultural Adaptation to Career Success," "Employment Policy Briefings," "Global Further Education Guidance," and "Success Stories in Employment and Entrepreneurship." During the "1-on-1 Resume Clinic," experienced HR professionals provided personalized resume reviews and interview coaching. Participants noted that expert advice helped them better showcase their strengths and boosted their confidence in job hunting.

By the end of the event, over 400 preliminary employment intentions were recorded. Beyond serving as a job-matching platform, the innovative "Job fair + Training Camp" model facilitated precise alignment between international talent cultivation and industry demands. BUCT pledged to enhance its "International Academic-Career Development Festival" brand and expand diversified platforms to offer more accessible services for international students. Leveraging its strengths as a "Double First-Class" university, BUCT will deepen industry-academia collaboration to cultivate global talents, contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative and global development.
