Recently, the China Scholarship Council officially released the "Notice on Carrying Out the 2026 ‘Discover China’ Social Practice and Cultural Experience Activities for Chinese Government Scholarship Students" (Document No. Liujin Laiguan [2026] 6). The project applied by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, titled ‘Discover China · Speaking China Through Chemistry — A Chinese Chemical Industry Tour for International Students in China,’ successfully passed expert review, received official approval, and was rated as an A-level project during evaluation.
The ‘Discover China · Speaking China Through Chemistry — A Chinese Chemical Industry Tour for International Students in China’ project is based on the university's strong chemical engineering disciplines, closely focusing on the development and technological innovation of China's chemical industry. The project systematically designs practical and cultural experience activities, mainly including: organizing international students to visit major chemical enterprises to experience China's industrial development and green transformation achievements firsthand; visiting high-level research platforms to learn about cutting-edge technological innovations; and integrating diverse cultural activities to comprehensively enhance understanding of Chinese society and culture.
Guided by the principles of ‘understanding China and befriending China,’ the project innovatively builds a ‘professional, practical, and cultural’ integrated education model, helping international students gain a full understanding of China's development achievements in real-life scenarios, deepen their recognition of China's development path and modern industrial system, and further enhance cross-cultural communication and international outreach abilities.
The A-level rating of this project is a full recognition of Beijing University of Chemical Technology's comprehensive strength in cultivating international students in China, practical education, and international exchanges. In the future, the university will continue to leverage the ‘Discover China’ brand platform, continuously optimize project design, enrich the content and presentation of practical activities, improve international communication effects, and keep building the ‘Study at BUCT’ brand, nurturing more high-quality international talents who understand, befriend, and love China, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.
